Upon recommendation of our consultant, the Atchafalaya Golf Commission has approved opening the putting greens tomorrow, August 22nd.  As part of the inter-seed phase of the project to convert our putting surfaces to Dynasty Pasaplum, we cannot top dress the greens with sand at this time.  However, we will return to mowing the greens daily and rolling weekly. That said, the greens will be a bit bumpy for a while. We intend to overseed all greens with a cool-season grass (Poa trivalis) in 30-45 days, subject to seed availability and soil temperature.  Because cool-season grasses germinate quickly (4-5 days when the soil temperature is below 70 degrees Fahrenheit), compared with 30 days or more for Dynasty Paspalum, this should speed up coverage and consistency across the putting surfaces. Thank you for your continued support and patience as we work through this conversion to Dynasty Paspalum.
